The Wali (Governor) of North Darfur State, Osman Yousif Kibir, has affirmed Tuesday that the peace process in Darfur is progressing due to the efforts being exerted by the government of the State to realize the lasting peace in Darfur region.
The Governor of North Darfur State has received Tuesday in El-Fashir the American Charge d’Affaires to KKhartoum, Joseph Stanford, and his accompanying delegation. Kibir has told the US Charge d’Affaires to Khartoum that the considerable support and the fruitful cooperation between Sudan and the countries that have been supported the peace process in Darfur region and the conviction of the people of Darfur with the peace and the futility of war have represented encouraging factors to press steadily the peace process forwards to realizie peace in Darfur region. Kibir said that some criminals have exploited the incident and committed some criminal acts but the authorities were capable to restore the situations to its normality in Kutum Locality.
On his part, the US Charge d’Affaires to Khartoum has renewed concern of his country with Darfur issue ,saying that it supports all efforts being exerted to realize peace and stability in Darfur region. Stanford has expressed satisfaction over the opportunities who has given
