Egypt: Citizens-Sudanese Coordination On Nile Water File
Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hisham Kandeel described his talks in Khartoum with his Sudanese counterpart Seif el-Deen Hamad as “fruitful and positive”.
The talks tackled issues of common interest, preparations for the new flood as well as Khartoum and Cairo stances on the Nile Basin Initiative.
The Egyptian-Sudanese arrangements for two conferences on water in Africa due in Cairo between May 14 and 18 were also discussed.
Moreover, the discussions took up the coordination between the two countries regarding a meeting of the African irrigation ministers to be hosted by Cairo on May 14-18 to probe the Nile water file.
Qandil said that he tackled with his Sudanese counterpart expanding joint projects in the fields of water resources and irrigation.
The two ministers underlined keenness on serving the common good of all Nile Basin nations.
