African Under 20 championship qualifying round-up
Sierra Leone came from behind to beat Chad on Sunday to advance to the next round of qualifying for the 2013 African Under-20 Championship.
The Shooting Stars won 2-1, to make it 5-3 on aggregate, and puts them through to face Cameroon in the next stage.
The other teams to secure progress over the weekend were Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Niger, Uganda and Morocco.
The finals are in Algeria next year, with places at the 2015 Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand on offer.
Sierra Leone‘s win came thanks to goals from substitute Brima Jalloh and captain Gibril Lalas Fofanah, after Ninga Casimir Rodrique had put the visitors in front in Freetown.
Tanzania were beaten 2-1 by Sudan in Khartoum but still go through to the next stage thanks to their 3-1 home victory in the first leg.
Yousif Abdelrahman put the home team in front to give them hope of overturning the deficit but Thomas Ulimwengu equalised for Tanzania almost immediately and a late penalty for Sudan was not enough.
